In this study, the influence of milling parameters on the temperature progression in a MBM was investigated.
All chemicals were purchased from Sigma Aldrich or Alfa Aesar and used as received. The reactions were accomplished in a Retsch MM400 Mixer Mill. If not stated otherwise, milling beakers made of stainless or tempered steel with a volume of 35mL and steel milling balls with a diameter of 5mm were used. The temperature was measured with a K-type thermocouple.

The amount of heat that is dissipated is strongly dependent on the milling parameters that influence the energy input in the milling beaker. The energy that is dissipated at higher osc is raised because of the higher kinetic energy of the milling balls. This led to an enhanced energy input.
